Highlights

  • Nearly every behavior-indicator pair is either on par or higher in California compared to the national sample
  • Notable differences:
    • Additional 10% of the population in California reported having considered eating less beef than in the national sample
    • Higher proportion of Californians report adopting 6 out of 7 behaviors
    • Compared to the national sample, additional 10% of the population in California believe people should retrofit their home, install solar, and drive electric

Methods

In May 2023, we recruited 1,496 adults, quota sampled to match the population of California in age group x sex x ethnicity and Hispanic/Non-Hispanic origin.

The sample was additionally weighted using survey weights to be representative of California’s adult population in age group x sex x ethnicity, Hispanic/non-Hispanic origin, and annual household income before taxes.
